a toast to the 90's...and NY

sticking with the coral trend i'm still not ready to retire... i was reminded of an old fave dating back to 1993 (when i was just a wee tot) - Revlon's Toast of New York Creme lipstick.  devotees of the time knew it only as 325 - a universal color that suited gals of all tones.  while at times i think it's best to leave some trends from the 90's behind it's worth the $7 to add 325 to your lip colour rotation.

a look from rodarte fall 11 that helped inspire...apply it lightly to the lips (no more three rounds for this decade) and smudge a lil round yer eyes (why not?)!

it is OK to use coral in the cooler months.  i'm feelin coral orange nails with my fall tights and booties...and why not be matchy with coral orange lips?!!!

our lips are STAINED...

i rarely use lipstick.  i'm a lipstain kind of gal... i have been for years and years.  originally there were only a few markers on the market... stila lip rouge (which has since been disco'd), sephora brand lip marker (also disco'd), and bourjois lipstain pen (disco'd)!  these days lipstains are popping up all over the place (thank the lordy)... pixi has lip blush (sold at target and one of my faves), josie maran has magic marker lip (my 2nd fave), cover girl has outlast lipstain (good but colors are only so so), maybelline has color sensational lip (have yet to try this one), and the one i'm so pleasantly surprised with...revlon's just bitten!  the colors are great, it goes on smooth, and it's seriously long lasting.  it comes with a balm attached, but i prefer just using my own gloss on top.

pick it up at your local drugstore for approximately $8 (a steal)!!!!!

UPDATE!!  just picked up Maybelline's color senstational lipstain, and i LOVE!  i got the cherry pop and it's perf!  long lasting and goes on just as it should.  it's only $6.50 - OMfreakinG!

tarte Lip Surgence Natural Matte Lip Stain is the shiznit!  no lip liner necessary!  the matte version is great because it stays put on your lips - it's best when used in conjunction with a clear gloss.

gurrrrrrll, those dry lips are not pretty!

i've been using this product since high school - that's a reallllly long time!  i'm not necessarily a fan of the strange scents that come out of this place, but the body shop has the ultiest lip exfoliater....LIP SCUFF.  i use it at nite *warning you will not look pretty while this product is on* but i wake up with the softest of lips.  kissable city (for only $12)!
