SACHAJUAN(A) make your hair beachy...

and he do!  now that my chin length crop is growing out i'm back to wearing my hair wavy.  in order to make it look tousled but not frizzee i've been relying on sachajuan's ocean mist spray. try to ignore reviews by beach hair novices.  tho the smell is a bit unejoyable at first it fades quickly.
here is how i use it:
wash hair
comb hair
scrunch hair (like in the 80's)
add a dollop of arrojo frizz control

air dry hair
suchajuan hair (whilst scrunching)

big hair...jersey style (bring it!)

i'm currently vacationing in the carolinas - yesterday my friend victoria and i decided to pamper ourselves at a local salon.  pampering consisted of wine out of styrofoam cups and gossip of witches.  we both went for blowouts (a bit wearily) and were pleasantly surprised by the outcome.  our 'stylist' used a product that was completely new to me - it's called Lanza Urban Elements Powder Up Texturizer.  The powder is used when hair is dry - applied under a layer of hair to create amazing height and volume.  It gives the hair a bit of an unwashed feel (in the best of ways) and makes it very pliable.  I bought it on the spot and used it myself this morning - IT'S A MIRACLE!!  faboo big hair jersey style in seconds flat.

forget me KNOTS!

i have long hair for the first time since my sophomore year in high school...for now i'm n'joying it, but something i'm not feeling are the knots (aka dreads) that form around the nape of my neck. ..ack!  so my new fave hair product is bumble & bumble's tonic lotion spray.  i spray it around the perimeter of my hairline and comb through - it helps the tangles and gives the scalp a super cool tingle feeling...invigorating!!

just say NO...to sulfates in your shampoo and conditioner!

i'm forever searching for a detangling, light, moisturizing shampoo & conditioner.  i want my hair to feel clean, soft, and not weighed down... alas i've found the best combo - with an added bonus: they're sulfate free (sulfates make your hair dry and brittle, thus more prone to damage. and they also make your scalp moisture less)!  buy it online at: http://www.arrojostudio.com/ or if you are in NYC stop by the store: 180 Varick St.
